  I think it is a great song.  It isn't really a fast song; but I wouldn't worry about that. Have the song you guys both want that is special to you.
  Our song for our first dance (if we can figure out how to fit in a first dance) is The Story by Brandi Carlile, which is probably too hardcore for most of our guests, but oh well, FI picked it out - so that's what we'll have.

  Good choice! I love Kenny Chesney. We danced to Then by Brad Paisley. (I love both of them equally).
  
  Don't worry about the speed of the song, as long as it is something that is meaningful to you and your FH, which it sounds like it is. If he picked the first dance song, then you could pick your last dance song or something else that you and him can dance to. Just be sure to let your DJ know.

  My husband and I danced to a slightly uptempo song too.  Honestly we didn't think twice because its "our song", and if this song is special to you you should definitely use it!

  That's a great choice!! It is your song, don't worry about what others think!! FI and I are dancing to "Fallin's for you" by Colby Callait...it is not a slow song at all.  We are taking lessons to make sure it looks good, but it is nontraditional which is so us!! Good luck!
