For those using Studio 1923 Photographers

Hi,
I have heard great things about Studio 1923, here on the knot and about Jerome. However for my wedding date only Amanda Sumislaski is available (Associate Artist is available) Any advice? The pictures I love, the ones I see are from Jerome. Any feedback?

Thanks

Re: For those using Studio 1923 Photographers

  • Ask them to show you some that are from her. She must have her own portfolio so just ask for a full wedding done by her- that would be the best way to see how talented she is. You should look at a full wedding anyway just to make sure their style is consistent and that they aren't getting just a few good pictures and junk for the rest.
Also, I found her on Facebook:

  • I'm going to be honest....I bet Jerome has very high standards for who he hires.  He has a phenomenal reputation so I'm sure he was looking for someone who is great.  I can't imagine he would hire someone who would bring down his name or his business.  But like PP said, ask to see some of her work, I'm sure she's had to show Jerome prior to hiring her.  I wish I could say I've worked with her, but I've only worked with Jerome.
  • I booked Jerome before Amanda began working with him, so I don't know anything about her. However, I agree with Carebear- Jerome has very high standards, and I'm willing to bet she does fantastic work. But yes, asking for a portfolio from her would be a great idea.
  • Amanda and Jen (Jerome's wife) are shooting my September wedding and I am so happy to have them! When we met with them (&Jerome too) I was super impressed. Ditto PPs, ask to see some of Amanda's work. You won't be disappointed!

  • I would ask what happens if she should stop working for the photography studio. My friend ended up with a totally different Dj then she met with and booked after spending a good deal of time checking him out because they said he was fired from the company which she found out later wasn't exactly true but anyways be sure to ask that question.

I just found her website for you!

I would ask what happens if she stops working for the company but I'm guessing since she has her own she could just transfer it or something.
  • Waht is up with the posting
  • I will never book her thru Jerome. If you want her, contact her directly for your wedding ... you will get her at almost half the price..

  • Ddiva5, she did ask on her facebook page that anyone who wants to hire her should contact her through Studio1923. I'm sure there are extra perks to hiring her as part of the Studio, too.
  • Does Studio 1923 release digital rights to the photos?  Do you know about how much they charge?  I'm starting to look into photographers and it sounds like people have good reviews.

    Thanks,
    Lauren

You do have full copyrights with Studio1923 (well, shared but you can do whatever you want with them.  It just means he can use them also).  Jerome is absolutely amazing.  I'm not sure what they are now but they were almost 5k when I booked a year ago.  There are so many things included in the package that it's worth the splurge.
