Hey all!!! The past few days have been uber busy!! but a lot of fun!!
Rehearsal dinner went very well. We did a little run through. Nice

No qualms there

Wedding day: Things went rather smoothly from waking up, setting up, getting hair done, eating lunch & getting ready for pics. As soon as we left the house it looked like rain! (only supposed to be a 10% chance all day..and well it happened hahaha) We got to the park for girl pictures & got some done. Then it started to rain! Thank goodness for a tree and not heavy rain. I would have made sure to have enough umbrellas for 2 each...rain passed for a little bit, during the first look we got poured ON! Thank goodness there were a few by-standers who brought us their umbrellas!! YAY! We had Bride in the middle & us surrounding her so she didn't get wet. The back of my dress was soaked! but hair still in tack! haha Her photographer was amazing...she went to the car to get her tarp & got drenched! Wrapped bride in it and off she and I went to our car...
Ceremony was beautiful. Rain let up & everything happened ON TIME!!! WOOT!!! They did the a sand ceremony for the bringing families together. (She has a son from a previous marriage). It was nice...
Reception was a little chaotic. They didn't have a caterer (which I would have had someone come in, but I understand people on a budget

The food was really good. There were a few different pastas. Beer, wine, soda & water. Nice...but the DJ didn't have a clue on when to do things...which wasn't completely his fault, the bride didn't really tell him when to do the sequence of events...but shouldn't the DJ know when to do that??? So I had to figure it all out & after that it went smoother...
They had 70ish people there. It was nice...but after dinner a lot of people left before they cut the cake. I would have cut the cake a little sooner...It was a very nice wedding...
To some it up on what I learned:
1. Make sure to have a timeline of events & that the DJ has those as well as an appointed person during the reception.
2. Make sure people aren't rushing you to take pictures. (the officiant told the bride that 'you have guests waiting...hurry it up" He is a southern Baptist preacher)
3. Carry umbrellas/tarp for outdoor pictures
4. Have a kick butt photogrspher!
5. Take time to eat something!
6. HAVE FUN & relax! Take time to enjoy the moment!! I don't think they really had enough time to soak it all in...it was a little rushed...
7. The family started to pick up things during the reception around 7pm...Why? I don't know...but I think that drew people out quicker...Don't pick up until after the majority of people have left...
