OMG I need to vent!

So last week I had an assignment due. I took an entired day off and spent 7 hrs working on this thing. I got stuck on 2-3 questions and asked a friend/classmate for help. She had a busy day but said to email what I had to her and she would see if she could help me. Then asked if I minded her using what I had as a reference if she got stuck. Not at all. Help me, Ill help you. Cool.

So the day it was due her and I got together in the comp lab before class (along with the rest of my class who struggled with the assignment). So this classmate, myself and another girl sat next to each other and threw back what we thought the different answer were. My classmate kept reading what she had and the other girl was typing it word for word. I was writing in my own words (to which I caught attitude as if her answer wasnt good enough. Whatever)

So today, 15 min before my final, this professor pulls me and these 2 girls into her office to tell us shes dropping our A to a B because our papers were identical, right down to the format. You're f'n kidding me right?! I never once thought I had to look at my friends paper to be sure she didnt copy and paste mine, but to make it worse she emailed my assignment to this 3rd girl who copied and pasted as well! So while I know it wasnt identical b/c i had 2-3 questions I did on my own right before it was due and never gave it to them, there were still 20ish questions that they did copy.

7 god d@mn f*ckin hours I spent on this and they just ripped my A out from under me. Then whiles shes talking to us about it, my "friend" is all "OMG it was a mistake. You said we could work on it together. We came up with the answers together and thats why theyre the same. Please dont think were bad students!" I just sat there silent trying not to f*ckin cry.

So now I need to calm down and email my professor and explain to her what really happened. Come on. We're all in out mid to late 20s and getting our MASTERS! If you honestly thought it was ok to copy and paste someones work...you need to visit 2nd grade again.

Ahhhh I would have killed them both on the spot! That really sucks. I hope your professor understands when you email her the real explination and works with you:/ on the plus side, at least she even accepted the papers instead of failing you guys on the assignment. But still, I can definately understand being pissed about the situation. Good luck! I hope she raises your grade back up when you talk to her!:)

That's shiitty! Hopefully since you were allowed to work together, e-mailing your professor with the real story will help. The fact that you had answers they didn't should prove something. Hope everything works out and you get the grade you deserve.

Well, I lost that fight. I got a reply back saying she wont adjust my grade b/c she "compared my paper with 2 other students and they were identical". No f'n sh!t. Did you just skip my entire email where I explained why 3/4 of it was identical (mind you I still have 1/4 that I did 100% in my own words without them seeing it. She said I could take it to the director of the program if I wanted to dispute it. Im not sure thats a good idea.

So instead I fend for myself and screw everyone else. I hate being used and lied to. I could absolutely rip her apart right now.
