Officiants for my Interfaith Wedding (Catholic-Jewish)

Hi everyone-

I know this may be  tough one to pull off, but I am looking for both a Catholic  priest/deacon and a Jewish Rabbi who will officiate at our Interfaith wedding.

We want the ceremony to be equally representative of the Catholic and Jewish faiths, so we plan on having the ceremony outside so it is a neutral location.

Does anyone know of any priests or rabbis who would be willing to marry us?

Thanks you sooooo soooo much!

Jenny

"In answer to having a Messianic Jewish rabbi" Messianic rabbis are neither Jewish or Catholic, they are Protestant probably Baptist. Many are Pentecoastal. In our experience marrying Jewish and Catholic co-officiated ceremonies, your Catholic family want a Catholic priest and the Jewish side of the family are not accepting a Messianic Rabbi, as an authentic rabbi.

Jenny, it is possible to have a Catholic priest and a Jewish rabbi marry you in a co-officiated ceremony. There are some rabbis who are willing to perform this type of service and many priests are willing now a days as well.

You have another issue with an outdoor wedding for the Catholic Church. It is sometimes possible but in either case you need to begin planning this type of wedding at least 6 months in advance. Thanks for the feedback! We are looking more for a Catholic priest and a Jewish rabbi to marry us in a co-officiated ceremony. I was hoping that maybe someone in the Milwaukee/Chicago area might have officiants they could recommend or know of that would be willing to marry us.

Thanks again for the feedback... Any more suggestions are greatly appreciated!

We offer a free clergy referral service, putting couples in touch with rabbis who will officiate at interfaith weddings (including rabbis who will co-officate with clergy from other religions).

    See http://www.interfaithfamily.com/findarabbi for more information.

    And congratulations - mazal tov!

There are Rabbi/Priests who will co-officiate an interfaith marriage.  However, another option you may consider is an interfaith minister.  An interfaith minister, such as myself have studied world religions and have been learned how to create ceremonies that meet the needs of each couple, blending important elements (to the couple) in their ceremony.
