Your shower are you sending out Thank You notes?

My Shower was Saturday and I haven't started them yet. I know it's not a huge deal since it's only 3 days later but still I was just wondering if this is something I needed to start on ASAP or if I could wait till next week when I have some free time.

I'm probably going to start working on them during the week after my shower. Maybe do about 10 per night and get them all done by Friday or Saturday and into the mail.

I'd make sure you send them by middle of next week, so that guest will get them by the end of the week/weekend. I think within 2 weeks of the shower is appropriate timing for a thank you.

My shower was 10 days ago and I'm finally just getting around to starting my thank you notes. I wanted to do them before, but just never found the time. I hope to finish them all by this week and get them out (w/in 2 weeks).

I did however get a negative comment (I was SHOCKED!) that I sent my thank you card out TOO EARLY after receiving a gift that was mailed to my house. The giver thought I shouldn't have opened it until after my shower. She felt I was 'rushing' to get my thank yous out early. So I guess too early offends people as well!

note: the gift was sent 3 weeks before my shower.

BAH! crap. just another thing to do. I totally forgot about thank yous for the shower... well I guess I will start on them asap after the shower lol

Lomlboat, really?! goodness, some people you just can't win! : ( I'd definitely rather send it early than late and have people think I'm rude!

As for invites, I'd say ASAP but as long as they receive them within 2 weeks you're fine (I got a thank you card for a wedding gift like 4 months after.. that was odd)

I wrote mine the day after and sent them the next... However, my shower was pretty small, and I wanted to get them out of the way since I knew my work schedule would get pretty crazy.

Something that my SIL did for me was address and put a stamp on all of the thank you cards she bought me so that all I have to do is write it and send it out. It was part of her present for me, so I really have no excuse lol. But something to keep in mind if you haven't had your shower yet, is to get the stamps and addresses written, because that is time consuming too. Or drop a hint and maybe someone will do it for you!

I think anytime within two weeks is fine, people typically dont expect them prior to that. Although I am a bit ocd when it comes to thank you cards....my shower was saturday and on Monday they were dropped in the mail! the most important thing to remember is to make each card thoughtful and original, that is what counts!

Yeah, I think within 2 weeks would be fine. For my smaller first shower, I wrote them out the next day and they were in the mail the day after that. I'm giving myself a week to finish them after my next shower (almost 40 people).

I have all my cards made and ready to go, just not written in. I plan to do them ASAP.. just one less thing looming over my head on my to-do list, and it shows appreciation well

I had mine sent out within a couple of days. Only because I had an 8 hour car ride home the day after the shower. So I passed some of the time writing the thank you's. Otherwise, I would have had them done within 2 weeks or so.
