Reception Sites

Hey all!

I need some ideas/opinions on receptions sites in the philadelphia area.  My FI and i really had our hearts set on having the reception at Citizen's Bank Park since we are huge phillies fans but we were told that it is booked through 2012 and we are looking to get married late summer/early fall of 2012.  Right now we are kind of in between the waterworks restaurant and the talamore country club.  any thoughts?

Thanks,
Taylor

I was in a friends wedding last September at the Talamore Country Club. It was beautiful. I would definitely recommend it :)

I am getting married at Talamore- if you have any questions or want to know any additional info about it- send me a message!
is CBP booked on Saturdays only? Another option may be to hold it on a Friday or another day if your heart is really set on it.

If I had the budget for it, I would have chosen Water Works in a second. I've been to two functions (one wedding, one party) where they rented out the whole restaurant and both times it was amazing. Plus, there are SO many spots right there to do pictures. It's very expensive though - you have to rent the space in addition to the caterer.

I also looked at Talamore. It is beautiful there. It is more of a typical ballroom than Water Works. I really liked the 2-story ballroom with the huge windows. It is a good deal less expensive than Water Works. If they hadn't already had a wedding going on the day we wanted to get married, there's a good chance we would have ended up having our wedding there.

We wanted to get married at CBP also.  You have to jump on that SO early.  Pretty much as soon as the schedule is announced, you have to call and book it.  It was just so out of our budget with the amount of people we have.

I love Water Works... it's absolutely gorgeous.  I haven't been to Talamore, but it's very popular on this board.  Either way.... I think it'll be gorgeous.  I would set up meetings at both places and see what the best fit for you is.

    Talamore is popular here.
We looked there, but for what we wanted the room didn't work, if the room would have worked we probably would have ended up there.

I have been to one wedding there and it was lovely...I am also headed to a wedding there at the end of next month.  Like I said it is very popular.

Since you are looking in the Montco Area  Ill throw my venue out there

    Good luck and congrats!
