Rehearsal Dinner Guest List *need advice please*

Who are you inviting to your rehearsal dinner? How many are you inviting? Also, what is the proper etiquette on who you're supposed to invite? I wanted to invite my aunts and uncles + my cousins, but my fiance only wants me to invite out of towners and my aunts and uncles, but no kids or other relatives unless they're in the bridal party. He asked me to get your opinion. LOL

  • You are "supposed" to invite the people directly involved with the wedding - bridesmaids, groomsmen, and their dates; parents, officiant, flower girls & ring bearers (and their families).  I think it's NICE to invite extended family and/or OOT guests, but not necessary.  This does depend on your circle though; some families do expect you to invite extended family and OOT guests, some families do not.  I'd go with what is expected by your respective families.

</div><div>This! We are not inviting extended family (my dad is one of 14). We would also like to invite OOT guests but our wedding is over 65% OOTers and it is just not feasable.

  • We are definitely not inviting the out of town guests, that would pretty much be our enitre guest list at that point.  Our venue lets us use a room there that will accomodate 40 people and any extras will cost more.  We're keeping it simple and inviting immediate family and the wedding party and thats it.  It'll end up being about 35 people.
  • We're only inviting people involved in the wedding. No extra family, no plus ones. We'd be over room capacity if we did. We're at 30 right now and absolute max is 35

We are inviting everyone involved in teh wedding (pastor, bridemaids, groomsmen, ring bearers, flowergirls, reader, hosts and hostesses), and their significant others and kids. I think we are at around 60 people. We also decided to add my aunt and uncle to the RD list since they will be driving 9 hours to come to the wedding and if we dont invite them they will be the only family members from my moms side of the family not invited and I feel like its rude to not include them. Oh and we are of course inviting our grandmas.

  • We are only inviting those directly involved with the wedding & their spouses.

We are having a party on canada day the day after the wedding so we will get to see most people then.
