Registry etiquette for destination wedding

Hey everyone!
Just wondering what to do in the case of getting married abroad? Do we still create a registry and have guests get us gifts? Some people have suggested it to me, but not sure if that feels right or not...help!

    Most people will directly send the gifts to your home before or after the wedding.  If you want a registry then create one.  If someone brings a gift to the wedding then you can always ship them home.

    It doesn't matter where you get married.  If you are getting married, you can register.  

    Of course, with a DW, some guests may opt not to get a gift because of the travel costs, but you never know.  Some guests opt not to get a gift no matter what.
