I just got a call from the HR lady, cancelling the interview I had tomorrow. They've filled the position. GD it. I don't know how much more of this I can take.

2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP!
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
That is total bullsht. Any chance you could market through your volunteer group? "Hey, guys, I love diong this, but I need to not starve to death, so help a fellow volunteer out." ?
I don't suppose you could become part of some organizations, like kiwanis, or anything? I mean, they cost $$, but some organizations a person can bring a guest in for X amount of time, and you could network that way. You're in a crappy place right now but it won't always be this way. What about temp companies in the area? Even a very temporary position can become permanent, if you impress them enough.
My company hires a lot of temps from Kelly Services - not sure if they are in your area, but even getting your foot in the door with a temp position can lead to full time.
have you been looking at contract positions at all? sometimes they will hire FT after the contract expires.
another option would be to look in a different field from your background as a way to get your foot in the door. I have a bioengineering degree, but I work in purchasing for a major chemical company. I started with them in AP, and worked my way up.
I've been in contact with several temp agencies, but nothing has panned out so far (I don't want to lose my unemployment to take less $ for a temp job, when we're having trouble making ends meet now. It may get to the point where I have to, but I'm trying to hold out for the dollar amount which would match what I get in unemployment).
My degree is completely unrelated to anything I've done. I've not been able to ever get my foot in the door with a CJUS degree, even as a legal assistant. Though I have a lot of administrative background. IDK if it's like that in other areas, but it's definitely "have 3-5 years legal assistant experience" here.
My previous 2 positions were in purchasing, Barbie. That's what I'm trying to get back into. Unfortunately the industries were construction and automotive manufacturing, which both suck right now. I'm trying to branch out, but it's still really crappy out there (here).
Re: F*CK
Crap...I Mean Crafts
I really hope you can find something, even part time.
That's really crappy. I'm so sorry.

I've attended a couple networking events this week and last, but they cost $, which we're very low on.
