April 2012 Weddings

Spreadsheets and lists oh my!

So much fun! Not really.

Gotta love the mundane parts of wedding planning!

    TK ate it!! GRR!

EDIT:  Now that I posted that its there! haha of course...
  • It did that to me too... It seems it's doing that to everyone.

Instead of hanging out with my friends today, i'm at home, making lists and spreadsheets for various parts of the wedding. OH JOY!
  • I just finished my last DIY and now have to work on homework.  :(   Urg.  I guess it's okay though - the weather's cooled off and it looks really cold out there!

  • What sort of lists and spreadsheets are you making?
I have made an arrival and depature spreadsheet, RSVP spreadsheet (that includes a seating chart), hotel room spreadsheet, and I still have to do a timeline spreadsheet. What are your spreadsheets, always helpful to hear what another person is doing!

(I know what you mean though about staying home and working on wedding stuff.. I don't know what I will do with all my free time when I am done with the wedding planning!)
  • I made a day of timeline, rsvps, seating chart, rental eqipment, stuff i still need to buy for the wedding, songs, and what not to forget!
  • oh... what not to forget would be a good one for me too add to the list since my wedding is 10 hrs. away from where I live!

Haha... My FI says that to me all of the time! I told him, well, I guess my next "project" will be a baby, so get ready! Lol :)
  • LOL - that's what I keep hoping my DD's next "project" will be!  :D

Besides their pre-marital counseling session with the offiant today, this has been a "Non-Wedding" weekend.  Kinda needed a break since our next two weeks are packed pretty full.  Next weekend will be finalizing the seating chart, doing programs, and organizing & packing reception decor.  :)
  • I actually love excel and making spreadsheets haha.  Still a lot of work.

As for TK eating posts, it just seems to be delayed posting to the board after you hit post.  So just wait before you post a second time...
  • I have lists of lists that I need to make.  My fiance thinks I am losing my mind!  (Actually, he might be right.  I don't know how you girls whose weddings are the beginning of April are holding it together!)

Good luck everyone.  We're almost there.  :-D
  • The only two tools I'm using right now are my current to do list and a spreadsheet that I've had since the beginning with guest names, headcounts by age tier, addresses and different working columns for checking off STDs sent, RSVPs printed, invites mailed, RSVPs received, and TYs sent.  It also calculates total venue cost as the RSVP headcounts are confirmed.  Plus all of my declined RSVPs are color-coded.  My venue is sending me a copy of the template that they use for seating charts.

AHAHA, me too! I'm big on using Google Docs to do all of my spreadsheets and documents. That way I can share them with FI and we can both view & edit at the same time. Plus, I can view & edit through the app on my phone. My biggest spreadsheet right now is the guest list which has a yes/no attendance column, name, address, shower gift, shower TY, wedding gift, wedding TY and spouse/children lines. <div>
</div><div>I have a million other documents and lists. It seems like as soon as I cross something off, 3 more things pop up!</div>
  • I make a lot of spreadsheets and plan/ organize events for my job, so i have a ton of wedding spreadsheets for probably everything there is with our wedding plans. My fiance even called me the spreadsheet queen and said i'm a little anal. I just think its being organized. I even typed up the entire church wedding ceremony of the readings, homily and wedding parts (basically for my aunt and uncle who are doing readings) But our Priest was even shocked with my organization and notes.
