Now that I've located my eyebrows (stuck to a plane flying overhead - they're fedexing them back to me when they land), I'm wondering - If that's the way you think, why do you even want that gold? Wouldn't you want gold that has never touched a jewish person in any way?
Re: RPOTD musings
It's just so goddamn creepy.
There is a sick part of me that would have wanted to talk to that woman for hours, though. I need to know how her vile mind works.

racist!
hi, i'd like my no-conflict diamond in a jew-free-gold setting, thanks.
I'm with bmom in that Jewish people were typically money changers, bankers, and jewelers, so probably not too likely. however i would prefer that my jewelry wasn't made out of someone's good teeth/fillings.

Still, the disease doesn't put that sht in your brain. Maybe she doesn't actually own any "jew gold," but she probably also wouldn't imagine she did unless it was something she'd always wanted.

<div>It usually just brings down barriers...so your filter that knows not to say something horrid isn't there.</div><div>but that's if it's dementia following 'traditional routes'. And sometimes dementia comes w/ 'crazy' of a different form--where the deterioration makes them fixate in abnormal ways and believe things they honestly did NOT believe before.</div><div>(kinda like most people are more honest w/ drunk--but some lie like mad when drunk)</div>

I disagree. She may have watched or red a news report about it, or heard someone talk about it once, and it put it in her head. It would have nothing to do with what a person wants, desires or has experienced. I'm not an expert, obviously, but my mom was a nurse that worked specifically with Alzheimer's patients. It was truly amazing and heartbreaking to see what people can turn into.
Also, I agree that Alzheimers takes away your ability to determine right from wrong in some cases. DH's grandmother would steal candy bars from the bagel place we went to. She also once asked me very loudly if the girl sitting in the next booth was "colored".
I just a friendly gal looking for options.
[QUOTE]Please also note that the massa on the plantation had no problem sticking his magic wand into Kizzy. Now, she couldn't drink out of his glasses, but her honey pot was a go.

Very good point.
