Going Dress Shopping Tomorrow! Eeeek!

Hey Knotties:

I am off to go dress shopping tomorrow (HoF & Bella Donna) and I am kinda nervous! I don't really have any designers in mind but more of a style and a budget (a strict budget!).

I am being kinda naive about it all but I hope to find a dress this weekend. I have been lagging on this item and I have 6 months and 20 days till my wedding so I need to get check this off my list.

Any advice from my knotties would be great!  Have a good weekend!

When I went dress shopping I came armed with pictures of styles I liked, but I was open to suggestions.  Don't be scared to try on a style that you don't think you'll like - you might find that another style looks great on you!  I ended up going with the style I originally liked, but it was a tough decision.

Be prepared to explain what you do/don't like about the dresses you're trying on.  It'll help the consultant pull other dresses for you to try on that might fit your needs.

Definitely be up front about your budget.  Does your budget include alterations and/or accessories?  If so let the consultant know.

Remember that you don't HAVE to buy that day.  Don't feel pressured.  I tried on a dress that I liked at one store, but that I wasn't "sold" on yet.  So I wanted to think about it first.  On my way out, the store manager gave me the 3rd degree, then offered 10% off if I bought that day.  I responded that I would still need to think about it and she replied "Then you must not be serious about buying a dress."  Her hard sales tactics made me choose to spend my money elsewhere.

Take very few people with you.  I'm glad I only brought my sister and my best friend (but I would have liked it if my FMIL could make it too).  My sister tends to go for romantic styles, while my BFF goes for classic styles.  I like a combination of the two, so it seemed natural to take them along.

    Good luck!

Exciting!! :) Although I haven't gone bridal dress shopping yet..i try to keep in mind that it's all about you! Enjoy every bit of it!  And maybe don't feel pressured to buy something you're having to "accept".  I think both my sisters knew it was the ONE when they compared every other dress to one in particular. I don't know if that helps, but i Hope you have tons of fun!!
