Downtown area rehersal dinner

Help!  My fiance and I are paying for everything and have a rather tight budget. Most of our guests are coming from out of state and therfore will probably be invited to the rehersal dinner/prewedding dinner. So we will basically be providing most of guests with 2 meals. I am looking for a place to have a rehersal dinner. I am not opposed to a bbq in the park but it will be April in Colorado and I'm not sure I can trust the weather. Any ideas?????

most parks have awnings and they are SUPER cheap!!!

however, if it blizzards (becuase we all know this happens, every year)....you could do afternoon tea at the brown palace:

or a night at comedy works in larimer square:

or the tavern at wash park (inexpensive, very good, went to a different local for brunch today, yum!)

I would NOT trust Colorado weather in April!!
My FI and I are doing our rehearsal downtown and we were thinking an inexpensive options would be to go to like Wazee supper club and just pre- order all the pizzas and such so you know exactly how much it will cost, and can adjust how much food you order.
We thought about doing Breck Brewery too,  They have a separate room, just make sure there is not a home Rockies game....
I am trying to think where else would be good....

Not sure how affordable it is but we looked at the Wynkoop downtown.  They have decent food and it is a brewery.  They are already booked for our date so we are looking elsewhere.  The problem with going downtown is that the restaurants make a ton of money without your business so a lot of them have food and beverage minimums that make it pretty expensive.  Wazee Supper Club had some good affordable options, so that would be a good place to check as well.

Hi, we just had our rehearsal dinner at Maggianos downtown and it was actually really delicious and the room we had it in was really pretty and we also had 5 vegans and the chef came out to talk to us and created us a special salad/dinner/dessert at no extra cost...they were great!!

We're doing our rehersal dinner at the Gilmore Art Center.  Its an art gallery at 21st and Curtis.  The people are great, its very inexpensive, you do have to provide your own food and alchohol--but that way you can do it with in your own budget!

I am planning a January wedding and am in the same boat.  Almost everyone is flying in for it and we are on a tight budget.  One option we're considering for the Fri night before is the Downtown Tavern.  They have a room in the back downstairs that is available for a 4 hr window until 9:30pm at which point they open it to the public.  It's big and has it's own bar, a dance floor, pool tables, mini bowling alleys, shuffle board, etc.  It's bar food (sliders, quesadillas etc) so it's casual but cheap and you can either buy drink or hand out drink tickets (so you can limit the total)  There is no rental fee and their food and drink min (at least in Jan) is <$2K for the whole time frame and that can be met with your purchases or money spent by your guests (ie drinks after the tickets run out).  Hope that helps!

This is a good thread, I will be watching for more advice :)
