Is a rehearsal lunch a good idea?

My rehearsal is at 3 pm, which makes things difficult. We could either have a lunch before the rehearsal or eat dinner at 4. Any suggestions for which one is better?

Re: Is a rehearsal lunch a good idea?

  • Im in a similiar situation..I think having the dinner AFTER the rehersal around 4 is more traditional. And 4 is considered an early dinner, it would work.  :-)
  • If lunch works better for your group, then that is fine.

  • I would say after, eating before sometimes can run over and you might be late to the rehearsal. this way you can have the rehearsal, and have dinner afterwards and people can leave freely once they are done, so people have the opportunity to go home and relax and be ready for your big day.
  • I think in todays time being traditional is difficult.  I think aving something different is cool.  I am going to have a rehearsal lunc too because mot of the people in our wedding work night shift..do what makes you happy and just have funLaughing
  • It's about what works for the group but I can see it running easier if you go for an early dinner.

Unless all your BP is coming from OOT and taking off the day before the wedding, they may want to try to work a half day which would make a lunch more difficult.    The other nice thing about a dinner is that you'll be finished at that point and then you can relax.
  • We did a rehearsal at three then dinner at 4:30.We couldn't change the dinner time because of our venue.  I think it worked out pretty well even though it was early because everyone knew about it ahead of time so they could plan on eating at that time. Then afterwards we had plenty of time to go and play after the dinner at a family fun center.
