Getting Ready Robes - Help Me Pick!

I decided I want to give each BM (and myself) a robe to wear while getting ready the morning of. I'm torn between getting the classic "waffle" style or a fun printed robe.

Here's pics of examples of each kind.

If you were my BM, which style would you prefer? TIA!

  • i like the printed robe. I think it is fun!

  • I like the colors of the waffle ones better, just because I don't care for the print on the floral one. But I think that a printed one would be fun! This makes me want to do this too!

  • I love the floral ones and am 99% doing the same for my girls. Have you found reasonably priced ones? I like the Plum Pretty Sugar ones, but for 8 girls, it's going to get expensive (esp if I am getting them something else small).

The ones I found so far are $35 each (for either style). For the waffle ones, that includes embroidery, but it doesn't for the patterned ones, so that's another consideration. Arrg I really can't decide, I like both options!

  • i loveeeeee the patterned ones and would love to do something similar for my girls! i think the pattern is more unique and super fun.
  • Bmore, would you send me a link? $35 is much mroe reasonable than $65!

  • I like the waffle even better now that you said that you can get them embroidered that makes them more special and they can use everyday

    Sure, I'm looking at these:

ETA: These are a lightweight cotton. Where the ones you were looking at silk, perhaps? I'm sure that would raise the cost considerably.

  • Yeah, they were silk, but I'm not dead-set on silk. I just wanted to get something they'll wear a lot afterwards! Thanks for the links!

  • Bmore, is this all your getting your BM's as gifts or are you getting them something else too? I really like this idea but don't know if I should be thinking about other additional gifts too.

  • ceglare - I got them some other little things, but this would be the main part. So far, I got them personalized tote bags and t-shirts from VP (for basically free) and then some random little things. I want to make them little emergency kits, too.

This is my inspiration for the emergency kits: http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/wedding-club-boards_march-2012-weddings_survival-kits-are-done-pip

  • i would maybe not vote for that specific pattern, but i think the patterns are more fun and exciting.
But a solid color might look better in photos too. thats a tough one. I did vote for the patterns.

  • I am doing the patterned robes too, my friend owns a boutique and is buying them for me at cost for $19 each! Score! I can't wait for them to come in. I think it's a great gift idea, and makes for nice photos. Plus, who doesn't want/use a great robe?
  • I bought my girls solid pink jersey knit robes from kohl's for $20 ea (after sale and coupon and free shipping) and they also come with PJs.  Check out the department stores, too!

It'll be July so you def want to stick with the lighter materials.

  • Why don't you take each BM into consideration and get them which ever one you think they will like the best. If your having 5 BMs for example, and you know 2 of them would prefer the ones with a pattern get those for them and the waffle ones for the others.

  • They're both cute!!
