So, I'm semi-new here and was wondering how everyone here who is NYE deals with waiting for the ring. We've had ours picked out since Nov 2011 and as of late, I thought it was happening this summer - come to find, it's most likely happening in the winter (he gives me clues

). I love talking about our future wedding and while we've toned down our wedding talk for the sake of my sanity, waiting still sucks! Any advice?

[QUOTE]Distract yourself!! Tell us all about you. What do you and your SO do? Hobbies? Favorite wine/cocktail? And yes, how do you like our potatoes?

Well, I'm 23 and a mental health technician and currently in a masters program for forensic psychology, although my ultimate goal would be to be a college professor. My SO is an associate of business admin at a marking and tech firm and he's 25. We both love reading. He's a fantastic writer. My favorite wine is .... all and in my bloodstream. Potatoes? Mashed with sour cream. OR fried with paprika. NOM!
Thank you for the distraction ;) We share an apartment, bank account, etc so my coworkers are always asking when we are getting married!
I agree with PP, get yourself something to distract yourself. Design doggy tu-tus, take up knitting, learn to speak another languarge - anything to take your mind off things! So, do you like fresh rolls?

<div>Learn to ignore the coworkers/friends comment. BF and I have been dating for 7 1/2 years, so the comments are only getting worse as time goes on. Focus on other activities as everyone else said. </div><div>
</div><div>What are your favourite books? I'm a huge fan of reading :)</div>

</div><div>Well, I am not new years eve over here, but I am NEY.</div><div>
</div><div>It's really nothing. It's just a state of relationship. I honestly don't think about it very often, partially because we've only been together 6 months and partially because I'd rather look at his cute butt than plan a wedding.</div><div>
</div><div>Step back, have a moment, get excited, then back to normal life, okay? Okay.</div>

</div><div>It's only been 2 1/2 for us and some of the comments I get are awful. I can't believe how rude some people cab be. I get most of them mean well, but it's annoying. Please ignore all comments and just be happy with where you are.

<div>Okay, we get it... you're waiting. You say it on like every post, do you have anything else to say?</div>
[QUOTE]Just focus on your daily activities and live life like normal. You have the rest of your life to be married, so enjoy life as it is now! Don't worry about planning for a wedding or anything until you've got the ring since that is what being engaged is for! Pick up a new hobby or read books... just don't focus on the ring.

<div>I totally agree! Go out and make some new memories! If all you focus on is the ring/wedding then after its all over, you may find yourself bored with married life....I just started a new hobby, making my own lip balm, lotions and soap making! :)</div>
Waiting on the ring but having a blast enjoying the love that comes first....at last....
Blog...a work in progress!

Huge book nerd over here. I really like books about forensic psych and true crime stories. I also enjoyed the Hunger Games, too even though I was iffy about it at first. I like Chuck Palahniuk's older books, his new stuff seems to get consistently shitty reviews so I don't bother. Jodi Picoult is pretty damn good too :)
Thanks for the distraction guys!

<div>Haha thanks. I love my wine. FI's parents are members of like a million Vineyards, and his aunt lives near Napa Valley. Whenever they get a new wine in they always invite me over to try it with them.</div><div>
