The general manager just got back from a meeting of all the corporate GM's.  They all do a facility presentation on projects, budgets, cost reduction stuff.  The Operations Manager got a copy and forwarded it out without really reading it.

One of the cost reductions is actually staff reduction.  They are cutting salary positions from 44 to 40 by the end of the year.  They 4 people have not been announced.  Needless to say tensions are pretty high.

Then I have to ask, if the news that 4 people are being eliminated why not just tell them and get it over with?

    Maybe the Operations Mgr will be one of the 4 for stupidly fwding a memo with that info to everyone.

    Odds are good they don't know who the 4 are, yet.  I'm working on budget spreadsheets for the bigwigs here and they are working HARD to cut some folks but haven't a clue who, yet.  Some ideas, of course, but nothing definite at all!!

    I think they should vote or have an American Gladiator style throwdown.  That is about as civilized as it will get.

    I have zero desire to see those guys in Gladiator wear, but I'm sure they could do some sort of combat style game. 

    There are some decent guesses for 2 spots, but the other 2 are up in the air and rumors are flying.  I'm not worried about DH though.

    I've always wondered why companies do things this way.  Until they tell the 4 people who they are, productivity drops to zero and everyone is on the verge of a heart attack...especially in a little town like yours where other employment options aren't available.
