Since I finally have a chance to calm down after the wedding I decided to write a review. Although I didn't post that much on the Knot while I was planning, reading reviews definitely helped me with my planning so I wanted to share with everyone.
Dress: Bridal Trosseau in Branford A They were great I got my dress a sample Maggie Sottero Arden in Champagne and although it was a size 12 they altered it to fit me like it was meant for me. Everyone was really nice and I felt they genuinely cared about making sure my dress was perfect
Flowers: Stop and Shop in Branford A++++ I couldn't be more happy my bouquet was beautiful and so was the bridesmaids. They were more affordable than florists shops and the quality in my opinion was the same. I gave them the fabric to use to wrap the bouquets in and I provided some bling mesh and a broach for mine and I loved them all.
Venue: Woodwinds Branford A+ Everything was perfect for my special day. I finally got to meet Scott and what everybody says about him is so true. He was awesome took care of our every need. He was on top of everything. He even bustled my dress before going into the reception. The flower girl was a little nervous and he ate some of her rose petals to get her to smile, that is going above and beyond. Food was good, My husband and I got to eat our food. Didn't really get a chance to try the hors d'oeuvres although everyone said they were outstanding.
DJ: Melee A I felt a connection with Melee when we first met and we met again about a week before the wedding so he could get a feel of what type of music to play. He did a wonderful job and is very affordable.
Photography Val McCormick A - While I know some people on here have less than stellar reviews about her, I have nothing but good things to say. I booked her after meeting with a bunch of different photographers and we clicked right away. She shot our engagement photos and they turned out amazing. She informed me right away when she was pregnant and her due date was around my wedding. So instead of cancelling on me she offered me the service of Candace Jeffrey Photography. My husband and I met with Candace and her husband Josh a week before the wedding so it wouldn't be awkard the day of. Candace and Josh are great photographers and they arrived at the hotel on time and started taking the getting ready shots. When one of my BM picked up the flowers I had all these extra flowers left over. I was talking to Candace about them and she suggested having them line the aisle, and said her husband could take them over. The aisle looked great. Candace and Josh were very accommodating and took photos that not only my husband and I wanted but want my Mom wanted as well. I would definitely recommend both Val and Candace both are very professional. Although Val had just had a baby she came by to see me off and to drop off my guestbook which she did an excellent job.
Limo: SunsetLimo Guilford A++ We got an affordable package for a 4hr limo which included picking up the guys at the hotel then taking them to Woodwinds and then circling back to get the girls. Upon leaving we had booked a town car to take me and dh back to the hotel. We were surprised when we got out there that they had sent a limo for us as a gift. Todd at Sunset Limo was really great to work with and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
Makeup: Crystal Razor A++ Crystal is amazing, I got airbrush makeup for me, my mom and my mom-in-law and everybody looked fantastic. She is very professional and always on time, I used her for my engagement photo session and she delivered both times. Very affordable.
J Cakes: A ++ - Although the cake was included in the package at woodwinds, we felt J cakes had the best tasting cake out of the options available. I purchased my cake topper, and cake broach online and then just bought ribbon from them. Came out beautiful.
