Beach Ceremony

Hey ladies! I'm new on here, and have just recently gotten engaged. We want a beach wedding, and I'm beginning to worry that I need a planner to get this all done. Does anyone else have any experience with a beach wedding? Ideas on how to start? Thanks in advance!!

Re: Beach Ceremony

  • What aspects of it are making you think you need a planner? I think if start with the end in mind, envision what you want, and then decide how to make it happen, you'll do a better job on your own than with a planner. Just stay organized! I'm not having a beach ceremony, but we are having our ceremony and reception on a sailboat... :o) Very D-I-Y and I'm loving planning so far.

  • A beach wedding is a more casual setting and i like the idea of people staning around you. Keep in mind your guest list.  make sure you have a planned standing area for those without chairs, so that they are not just roaming around... They can make it a challenge for your photographer.
  • TaraKeeley- Thanks! The reason I thought I needed a planner was because I noticed that many of the sites I was looking at said to "contact your planner for information". I would like to do it all myself!

OBX2011-Thanks! I will check it out!!
  • I'm getting married in September on the beach. I HAD to have a wedding planner for the venue I picked. Originally I did not want one but I must say she has been a savior! I am the farthest from being a wedding expert and having someone around to give you ideas and let you know what you should be thinking about as you get closer to the day is helpful. Wedding planning has been so stressful and I never thought it would be like this. If I didnt't have her around I would have already gone to the court house! Good Luck!
