How Soon Is Too Soon To Pick Bridesmaids?

I just posted something ELSE about bridesmaids, but it led me to think...how soon is too soon to tell your bridesmaids you'd like them to be bridesmaids? I have PLENTY of time (a year and a half), so I don't want to annoy anyone and drag it out, but I'm excited, too. :)

    Oh, I believe you. I know the girls I pick now will be in the wedding (we've been friends for YEARS), but there actually is someone I had thought about, but wasn't that close with yet. Maybe our relationship will become closer. So, at least in that way, you never know for sure. So, I shouldn't say anything until I know the whole list.

    Definitely 6 to 8 months. Word to the wise, I had a cousin/best friend/like a sister from birth and were best friends and then about a year before the wedding things went south and we had a BAD ending to our relationship.

    I think I'll "officially" pick them in the fall next year, possibly when we take our engagement photos and such. That would be about 9 months out. Thanks for the advice everyone!
