Short videos

I started the 30 Day Shred a few weeks ago and loved the first video. I saw some good results in endurance and strength. The second video, not so much. It really hurts my shoulders as more than half of it seems to be in either push-up position or the like. And I've always had problems with my shoulders. But, I got into the routine of doing a short 20 min video in the morning and since I stopped doing the 30DS I miss it. Wondered if anyone else had recommendations for short videos that really get your body moving!

  • Just about any workout DVD you try will have you doing push ups or miscellaneous exercises in the plank position.  I have problems with my shoulders as well and can't do some of those exercises.  The key is subbing an exercise in that you CAN do. 

    I have 10 lb dumbbells that I use to do various different strength training exercises instead of push ups or plank moves.  For example, if they do push ups on the DVD, I'll lay flat on my back and use my dumbbells for a bench press type exercise.  I'll also sub in different exercises for biceps, triceps, etc.

  • Have you tried Pilates? I don't do it often, but I have a Shape Pilates DVD that is about half an hour long. It's definitely not super aerobic, but it will leave you sore the next day if you do it right (focus on breath and form). I sometimes have shoulder problems and have found that Pilates doesn't hurt at all, since many exercises are done while on your back.
