Invitation Vent

So my FI and I ordered our invitations from our family friend's print shop. This was not his fault at all because we wrote out the wording in caps so no one could mistake any letters. The problem is the printing company Carlson Craft spelt MY NAME wrong on ALL of our invitations!!

We just picked them up yesterday and I am so angry that they misspelt my name of all words even after we wrote out the letters in clear caps for them to read! an "A" does not look anything like an "E" UGH!!!

Did you review the proof before you gave your approval and final go ahead?! That stinks though. =(

I would be so upset....I hope they will be fixing that....I am sure they can pull the order to show it was Carlson's fault and get them ASAP.

Oh man - I hear you. I have had my fair share of drama and invitations. I had the same issue w/ making sure they spelled my last name correctly!

I hate that the final proof has to be approved by you / us. I mean on one hand you have to take accontability but on the other hand - as for me i have a 100 things running thru my mind & I kept second guessing myself putting the proof down looking at it again. Having my fiance look at it and thank God it all came out alright. However there was one mistake in the beginning and they charged me $10 just for one minor change.

So basically - you have to pay for the whole reprinting again?

I was never sent a proof. We filled out the papers we both checked them multiple times before having our print shop send them in to Carlson. They just ordered the invites! I am waiting to hear about them fixing the invites because the brides name cannot be spelt wrong!

    Thanks for the support

Well in Advertising - which is the business I'm in - we specifically have what they call "proof readers". They are the ones to check over everything before an Ad goes to print. As objective as one can be - you can look at what you typed out a thousand times and still miss something. Wedding invitations your closely connected to. Like I said we checked ours over at least 2 or 3 times and somehow still missed one detail that ended up costing us but thankfully not too much. But again, I did say one should take accountability for their own invitations - I'm just saying it adds onto the stress of everything but it's par for the course.

**Sewilson33**   I hope everything works out for you esp in a timely fashion! Kiss

Hopefully you get this taken care of! And at no cost! (Hopefully the printed request and paper order will be enough to prove you are not at fault)

To everyone else - GET A PROOF!
