Door County Wedding!

Hi!  We are getting married May 2012 in Door County!!  Just wondering if there are any other Door County Brides?  Would love to chat about who to use/stay away from.  Thanks!

    Not a bride, just a vendor, but just shot a wedding in June in Sturgeon Bay and here is my opinion.
    Videographer - Precious Moments out of Green Bay. Easily the most memorable of the wedding day because he was amazing. I am down in kenosha and so I've never come across him before, but Gary is really fantastic. He was at the rehearsal with my assistant and I and was very easy to work with. The bride loved him and made sure to introduce us herself.
    Venue - Stone harbor resort. Very nice, great location. The bridge is being repaired behind it, so the view wasn't an A+ as of right now, but I would think it would be fixed before then. Did not get to try the food, but heard it was delicious. The bar was a little small so there was a bit of a line, but the bride hired part of the UW marching band and the resot accommodated them as well!
    Hair Salon - Yankee Clipper. Her hair looked amazing the entire day. It stayed perfectly, I didn't have to touch it up once. And they didn't mind a photographer shooting over their shoulder (bonus!)

    Those are all the vendors I know about. I am sorry I don't know her florist or cake lady!

    I was not a door county bride, however I iknow the area well, and my best friend got married there!  She had everything at Stone Harbor resort- it was BEAUTIFUL, she loved everyone there she worked with.  I think she used most of the vendors from Green Bay, and they were fine driving to Sturgeon Bay.  Did you pick a venue yet?

    We went up yesterday to look at venues and decided on Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor. Since it's not part of a hotel or lodge we will have to do everything ourselves.  It would be great if you could share some of th vendor names!  Thank you!!

    I'm a door county bride!! my fh is from there, we are having the ceremony on his families farm and doing the reception at his moms restaurant.  I really need to get a professional make up artist to come up for the day tho! If you know one who will let me know! I'm may 5th

    May 5th was our original date, but we changed to June 23rd becuase of the venue.  The setting sounds perfect!  We are getting married in Egg Harbor at the Woodwalk Gallery.  I don't know any professional make-uo artists but I will keep an eye out for you!

    We are having a Door County wedding in July 2012 and looking for a wedding photographer on a tight budget.  Any suggestions?

    We are still looking for a photographer.  We have not found one for under $2000.  We are thinking of hiring from Milwaukee and paying for thier travel.  I will let you know if we find anything else.

    Hi!  Try Gosia's Photography in Appleton, WI.  They seemed to have reasonable prices and it sounded like she would travel.  We aren't using them because she was already booked on out date, 6/23/11.  Good Luck!

    I'm getting married in Door County on May 19th! Yeah Door County!  I've also been looking for Green Bay people.

    Photographers- I'm looking for a cheap photographer too.  The place I found the best people was thumbtack.com but I found Sheila Wallace Photography.  I love her work, I think I love her price- all events for $700 which is about 10% of my budget.  I haven't booked her yet but I love her personality so far. 

    Have you guys picked a DJ or a baker?

    Do you guys know anyone would would let us use their classic cars (1930's-1950's)? they can drive.  My FH is obsessed with cars and I think it would make awesome pictures.

    Wow!  $700 is great; I'm going to look her up.  For the DJ I actaully work with a guy in Milwaukee that is willing to drive up for the wedding.  And I haven't even thought about bakery yet, but I have hear good things about www.facebook.com/pages/FlourGirl-Patissier/84090058628" class="actorName">FlourGirl Patissier.

    i will be getting married in door county September 29, 2012. we initially wanted an outdoor wedding & looked at just about EVERY venue possible, including Woodwalk, Stones Throw, a tent in Sister Bay Marina, and so forth... but, because of the unpredictable weather i think we decided on an indoor wedding at Horseshoe Bay. 

    we have yet to book the band & photographer  but we have them lined up.
    photgrapher: rachel buckley out of appelton
    band: big mouth (a door county tradition) 
    and i have heard great things about Flour Girl!!

    We are having a DJ come up from the Milwaukee area ( I work with him),  Who is everyone using for a Florist?

    I stopped by The Pink Bakery this past weekend and they were very friendly and had a great variety.

    I'm from DoCo and am getting married there (half there, my reception is in Brown County). My photographer is Kara Counard out of Green Bay. We just did our engagement session with her (included in our package along with 6 hours on our wedding day for $1500) and we LOVED it. Our pictures turned out amazing and we are so happy! My florist recommendation for EVERYONE is to look into Maas floral. They're located in Sturgeon Bay, and do the best arrangements out of anyone in the area. Our DJ is Dan Fulton out of Luxemburg. He djs for various events and bars in Door, Kewaunee, and Brown County and we are sooo excited to have him! If any of you need any recommendations or anything, let me know!

    MikkiJoy - do you have suggestions for hair?  Since I am from Milwaukee it's hard to just pick a salon up there.  It would make me feel better if someone else had been there and had good reviews.  We are getting married in Egg Harbor, but I am open to anything in Sturgeon Bay as well.  Thank you!

    If you are looking for the Sturgeon Bay area my first suggestion is going to be Bridgeview Hair Design. Pam is going to do my hair and my bridesmaids for my wedding! If you're hoping to stay in Egg Harbor, I strongly recommend checking into Details Hair Innovations!! They do amazing work!

    FlourGirl Pattisier is doing my cake!! She can make vegan cakes as well.  Her stuff looks awesome and prices are good too. She is very friendly.  My photographer is going to be 1500 and his name is Robert Maves Jr, from Door County.  I found an affordable string quartet also, Allegro String Quartet lead by Kimbra Allison. 

    Everything is coming together and I can't wait for May!
