August 2012 Weddings

Questions..

Hey Girls,
I have a few questions I have been pondering over all day that I need some advice on for the wedding.  Since you August brides are so nice I figured I'd post it on here.
First question, I have re-done a chalkboard I bought for .50 at a yard sale, yes fifty cents (it's large too).  I have spray painted, well FI spray painted it hot pink for me = ).
I want to put this chalkboard up on a table by where I will have a clothesline of escort cards with the guests names.
I want to put a message on the chalkboard stating "Pick your seat" I've seen ones that said, "Pick your seat and bon appetit" But I was looking for something just a little different.  Any ideas?

Second question, I want to do tulle across my reception hall ceiling (LOVE the looks of it), But I was wondering if anyone heard or knew a guestimate of how much tulle I should purchase?  I know it depends on size -- this is an average size vendor hall that holds approx. 350 people.

Any advice will be appreciate. = )

Re: Questions..

  • Regarding the fabric are you going to want to drape it? Because then you will need more fabric. I would go to your reception hall for this information. THey will likely be the one's to install it for you, or if not, you'll have to get that worked into your contract. As them for the rooms dimenions to help you figure out how many yards of tulle you'll need. You'll probably want to order this pretty quick since they will have to special order at the fabric store to get you continuious yards compared to remaining fabric on a bolt.

For example I bought fabric to make my aisle runner 2 weeks ago and I needed 24 years. The only bolts I could find only had 12 yards of fabric on them. Since I didn't want a seam, JoAnn's gave me the sale price, I paid of it then and then had to come back and pick it up when it arrived from their warehouse.
