Need NJ Flower Experts please. So clueless

I am at a loss here. I can't find a specific board that will help me outline what is entailed in a flower budget.
I know I need
one bouquet
one fake throwing one
5 bridesmaids flowers
5 boutonnieres ..for grooms men
Mother/mother in law
Father /Father in law flower

Plus centerpieces and church..

How much am I supposed to put away for this? How do I reuse ceremony flowers? I heard that is doable . Will the florist set up everything? I heard about the bridesmaids reusing their bouquets. omg. Overwhelming.

Oh yeah.. I want purple. Am I jumping too far ahead? FLorists I have contacted have told me it is a little early to make appointments and I kinda wanna kick them.

What did you choose and what worked and didn't? My wedding will be in July 2012 and the colors are purple and gold.

Help~

It really depends on what kinds of flowers you want & if they are in season. If your only requirement is purple I am sure you can find a florist to work with your budget. It will also depend on how many centerpieces you need, etc.

I paid $150 for my bouquet & $75 for each bridesmaid (my throw bouquet was thrown in for free). My centerpieces for pink gerber daisies in a small square vase with ribbon around it - $60 each.

I'd determine how much you have to spend on flowers & go to a florist with your budget & what you want & see what they have to offer.

I also used the flowers at my alter to go on either side of our sweetheart table. I also used my bouquet & bridesmaid bouquets to decorate our sweetheart table -- see below...

Last I wouldn't start looking until late 2011 early 2012 -- you have plenty of time!

Use the knot budgeter- it's under the myKnot tab- it's helpful to give you a jumping off point on budget for each category of the wedding.

I also wanted to get started on my flowers early but most florists said not to even come in for an appointment until your bridesmaid dresses are ordered.  This is because so often girls change their minds on color once they see the dresses on their bridesmaids.

I was asked to bring a picture of my dress and bridesmaids dresses to my appointments, so until you have all of that settled then you really shouldn't start checking out florists. There are a lot of florists that are willing to work with whatever budget you set aside - just let them know how much you want to spend (especially if you are on a tight budget). I believe budgeters say you should expect to spend 10-15% of your total wedding budget on flowers - but that's only a general rule of thumb, you obviously can spend less or more. The florist is pretty much the last vendor you need to book, so don't stress out about it now.

I am using Rose Petals & Lace - they are amazing. We are reusing our ceremony flowers for the reception. They are setting up everything - we don't need to worry about anything. Don't worry about a fake throw away bouquet - almost every place I went to included a real one for free.

I am also getting married in July 2012.  I am going to be booking my florist within the next month.  I wanted to have all of my major vendors booked ahead of time.  I have not found the bridesmaid dresses for my girls yet.  We will probably start looking this fall.  However I do know that I want hot pink dresses and gerber daisies.  I am have looked into Avenue Florist in Elizabeth they are actually doing a mock up trial for me before we book.

I am also going to visit another florist this Thursday.  My budget for flowers is $2K tops.  I am getting my bouquet 6 bridesmaids, 6 boutonniere, mother of bride, MIL bouquet 2 grandparent corsage and father of the bride flower plus 20 center pieces of gerber daises, rose petals for our aisle tule for the gazebo at the ceremony and 2 big green plants for at the end of the aisle.
