tealight Vs. Votive Candle

I am debating between using tealights or votive, the tealights are cheaper, but only last 4 hours....so i am wondering if 4 hours for the reception is long enough or just splurge some more and get votive candles so they last all night???

How long is your reception? Factor in that they'll be lit before you arrive and I think you'll have your answer.

We did votives. I've been to too many weddings where they use tealights and they have gone out during the reception and no one re-lights them and it bugs me!

For the reception, people will arrive around 530, dinner at 6 and goes till midnight....

I use tealights at home when entertaining and they don't last 4 hours. I always wait until the very last possible minute to light them. Buy a tealight and a votive and light them at home to test them.

Yea I use votives at dinner at home and they burn out after 3 hrs easily. Definitely go with votives

Definitely go with votives. I have never actually tested this... but I have heard that if you leave the candles in the freezer until shortly before you light them that this will make your candle last longer.

i chose tealights because i could get 200 of them for 4 dollars, I have a low budget and I am not really concerned with them going out while people are dancing. I figure they will be lit for dinner when the guests are at the table and if they go out during dancing thats ok.

But if you are really concerned with the candles not being lit for your whole reception def go with votives.

I agree votives for sure!! There are some inexpensive ones on candles4less.com I purchsed a 100 or more for $25
