Honeymoon?

So where is everyone going on their honeymoon?

FH and I are looking for a tropical location that's all inclusive, adults only, nice beach, and pools.  Any suggestions? I am a AAA member so I'm thinking of making an appointment with one of their travel agents. Did others use a travel agent or book it yourself?

Any help is appreciated!

We're going to Hawaii and we're very excited.  The AAA travel agent saved us about $1,000 over what I could have booked myself on flight, hotel and car rental, so I do think it's worth it to at least go talk to them.

I definitely recommend an all Inclusive! We did Secrets (clicky) & it was absolutely amazing! We went to Cancun but they also have locations in Jamaica & Cap Cana. We looked at several other all inclusives before deciding on Secrets but I can't remember which ones were adults only. I know Beaches allows kids. I'll be more than happy to give you more info. You can e-mail me at matthewsk1216 at gmail dot com.

We went to Paris for our honeymoon and stayed in an amazing apartment a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower, by www.parisperfect.com.  It was awesome! The company also has apartments/flats available in London and Italy. www.londonperfect.com and www.italyperfect.com

Not a Caribbean/tropical resort, I know, but I just wanted to share.

My sister did all inclusive at Xupaha (sp?) in Mexico.  It was right after the swine flu broke out so they had the place relatively to themselves.  They loved it!

I'm using a travel agent but we're going to Italy!!!!

We're going to Italy so I haven't looked at any resorts at all.  I did get a flyer in the mail yesterday from the Mann Group that said if you booked a Secrets (or two other types of resorts but can't remember off the top of my head) they wold give you $100 off plus two massages free...don't know if that is good or not but if you want it, I can send it to you!

    Beth,

Have you already booked your trip?  If so, do you mind sharing in a PM where you are staying, etc.  We have some leads from the Mann Group but need to start solidifying our plans.

    Thanks!

We are going to Costa Rica.  We are staying at an all inclusive for most of it, but we're renting a car so we can go on day trips and explore.  I wanted to get out and try the local food and find the awesome beaches that I have read about.

I can recommend some hotels in Italy. PM me if you are going to Rome or the Cinque Terra (my fave!) on the coast. We also stayed in Venice and Florence, but I cant remember the places off the top of my head. There is a GREAT locals restaurant that is hidden away in Venice that you have to try if you go there :) squid ink pasta was amazing there!

Jenn I would  highly recommend Aruba!  There is an adults only resort there, but I cant remember the name of it- maybe Manchebo?  we've been all over the caribbean and aruba is def our favorite. the water is crystal clear and calm like a pool.  people dont badger you on the beach to buy hair braids or jet ski rides the way they do on other islands.  my fiance loves st.thomas too. he has been there several times. I havent been there yet.

We're staying at Couples Swept Away (clicky) in Negril, Jamaica.  Its all inclusive, couples only.  We can hardly wait...only 26 more days until we fly out!!  Jamaica was one place that neither of us had been and had lots of reviews from others.  I like the fact that the Couples Resorts have a message board and people review their trips, ask questions about what to bring/not bring.  It made me feel really comfortable and prepared!  Good luck! =)

Malea, be sure to tell us how your trip went! DH and I enjoyed Secrets so much but we would like to experience some other all inclusives for future vacations. We have talked about going to an all inclusive with another couple we know. I think it would be so much fun!

We went to Bermuda..and it was amazing. It wasn't all inclusive, but it did include a meal plan (breakfast and dinner...which gosh was so yummy).  I've also traveled to the Carribean, which is (in my opinion) so much better than Mexico. The carribean by far has the prettiest and nicest beaches. Some of my favorite islands have been Aruba, St. Lucia, Barbados, and Grand Caymen. I would check out those islands to find resorts.

I would also def recommend a travel agent, ours did everything for us.

Pinky, where did you stay in Bermuda?  That was our runner-up honeymoon location.  We still want to plan a trip there.

Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana in DR.  All-inclusive, adults only, beautiful beach, looks absolutely WONDERFUL!  I cannot wait!  We REALLY wanted to go to Maui, Hawaii, but we just couldn't afford it.  Plus, we didn't want to have to keep up with money on our HM.  But, we are definitely planning to go to Hawaii at some point in time!
