Program Printing

Hello Ladies,

So my sister designed and did my programs from her home and just sent the attachment to me which came out fabulous. I just need to know where is a good place in Charlotte to get them printed out in color on program paper at an affordable price? Anyone do this as well?

    I considered having a printing company print my programs, but it was not going to be worth it. Color printing is so expensive. Ours were going to be $400 ($0.25 per side,  2 sheets each) just for printing the pages inside the booklet... I decided to buy a really nice printer and I'm really glad I did. I was able to use it to also print the reception menus, place cards, rehearsal dinner and bridesmaid luncheon invites, OOT bag tags & welcome packets and a lot of other things.

    I bought a high quality, ink jet printer that could print both sides automatically (which made printing the programs so much easier!). I believe it's this one: Canon PIXMA MX860

    In my situation, it was better to buy the printer and high quality Crane's paper and print them myself than having everything I needed printed at a print shop.  Just FYI.

    Hey Supadivak--I feel you!!  I may have an answer for you shortly, depending on precisely what you want to do.  I went to Kinkos to scope out their paper, but wasn't in love with the shades of green they had, so I went to Archivers and found some that I love in the shade intense kiwi--not everyone's cup of tea. It's cardstock, so I'm reluctant to put it in either my Canon or Epson printer.  I called Kinkos and they've told me they'll print them up on the cardstock and, more importantly, fold them.  I may head out there tonight with FI, or tomorrow a.m.

    Lke you, I had a friend who created a nice looking program for me, due to my lack of ability to do so myself without lots of profanity and frustration involved.   While scoping paper, I found this more traditional look online as well:  http://www.lcipaper.com/metallic-specialty-programs.html

    My friend also included the following info for me:  I also found a paper source that will do the printing for you www.cardsandpockets.com/colorswatches-1.aspx" title="blocked::http://www.cardsandpockets.com/colorswatches-1.aspx">http://www.cardsandpockets.com/colorswatches-1.aspx  , they carry metallic papers and appear to ship in 1-3 days. Based on the printer you choose, I may need to reformat the file(s) based on the printer’s requirements.

    Okay, so Kinko's is charging $.20 to print the programs on my cardstock paper.  First one came out beautifully, but we're all a bit concerned about my choice of raised paper--should have gone with smooth.  Laser printer likes smooth better--inkjet is fine with raised.  Folding these suckers is only $.03 of the $.20 per--exceedingly well worth every penny for 200 plus programs.

    Hope this info is helpful and I'll post a photo after I pick them up tomorrow.
