    Yikes, sorry. I didn't mean for any of you to go lay down the law, I just felt like I tried and failed at explaining myself to that other poster and was only commenting that from what I read here, you guys seem to do much better explaining than I do.

    Well maybe I misunderstood.  It's like people think we're the "big bad E" and we're supposed to board surf and be vicious.  :)  I'm sorry to assume you meant it that way.

    That will happen a lot.  People don't have to agree with what you say, which is fine.  You speak your opinion and leave it up to them to decide what to do with it.  It's just unnecessary to XP every single post here where someone disagrees with you.  It kind of comes off like you are tattling to the teacher...

    No harm done, but just something to keep in mind.

    No, no, no- I'm sorry, bad choice of wording on my part! I lurk here like it's my job because I think you guys give such good advice- not trying to dispatch anyone to the other board, just pointing out that apparently I suck at giving advice. Oh well, I tried to help!

    The way I see it, if people want the correct etiquette on something, they'll come here. If they just want personal opinions, they ask elsewhere :)

    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
