Under 21 Bachelorette/Shower Location Suggestions Needed!!

Hi Ladies,

This is kinda long but I really appreciate your help.

I usually post on the Hudson Valley board but I had a quick question for you. I'm having a bachelorette party weekend in Miami the end of July, but unfortunately some of my girls aren't able to make it, one of them being my 20 year old sister/MOH. She wants to plan a shower/girls night out the Friday before my wedding (getting married on a Sunday). I'm trying to help her narrow down a location since she lives in Seattle (my hometown)  Since I have a lot of friends in the city, I went to FIT and lived all throughout Manhattan for 5 years, I thought it would be nice to do something done there, plus it gives all my OOT guests a taste of the city since our wedding is in Poughkeepsie.

The problem is I'm having a hard time figuring out a place where my sister can go. Not only is she under age, but since I've moved out of the city and became a mommy, I've lost touch with all the spots...lol. I wanted to just do something simple with drinks and appetizers but is still reasonably priced. I thought Lucky Strike or the bowling alley at the Chelsea pier would be a great idea, but alas my little sis can't get in :(

Do you ladies have any suggestions? It would be a group of about 10-15. Any suggestions are great!!!

TIA

Is Bowlmor on University Pl 21 and over?  I am almost 100% sure it's not!  That place is very party-ish in atmosphere...

Or, after dinner somewhere (a restaurant won't keep out under-21s), rent a room at ibop or one of the Koreatown karaoke places - I believe it's BYO whatever, so it doesn't matter the ages of the people and you can sing your hearts out...

The Awesome 80's Prom! I JUST had my bachelorette party there--2 of my bridesmaids are under 21. It was an absolute joy...we danced the whole time to our favorite 80's songs and the characters in the show actually danced with us. Totally brought me back to high school, except a heck of a lot more fun. (And don't worry, there is a bar.) Your sister will have just as much fun as you do, garaunteed.

Nope I called Bowlmor and everyone has to be 21 and up. I like the karaoke idea though...

I will check out the 80's party too! Thanks ladies!!

We had the same problem - we had a dinner and karaoke, but no one could go to the latter if not 21, so they just joined us for dinner.  The City isn't very under 21 friendly and I had a hard time finding alternatives, so that's what we did.

If you don't do the prom thing, you can do regular bowling (as opposed to Bowlmor), otherwise, just keep it low key.  Sitting around in a nice party room of a restaurant allowing folks to catch up can be as much fun as a whole evening out.
