Places to visit in Myrtle Beach

FI and I are getting married in MB next month. We have been there tons of times but I was wondering if anyone local had some restaurant or attraction recommendations.

Thanks!

What type of food do you like? What kinds of things are you interested in? There are SO many things there that's it's easier if you give some parameters.
  • We love seafood, steak houses, and also ethnic food.

We're up for pretty much anything attraction wise. I heard they have casino cruises and wonder if that would be fun.

  • I'm a huge fan of the "hole-in-the-wall" types of place, so keep that in mind when you look at my suggestions, but as far as seafood goes, I'd suggest Mr. Fish and DEFINITELY Nance's in Murrells Inlet for an oyster roast. I always love seeing the sunset over the inlet, too, so anywhere in Murrells is good for dinner. If you like Italian, I'd say the best restaurant experience I've ever had in Myrtle is at Villa Romana. Carolina Roadhouse would probably be my recommendation for a steakhouse. I haven't found a whole lot of good "ethnic" restaurants in the area... there's a Thai place by the public library that I"ll go to sometimes that is pretty good. People talk a lot about Rioz (Brazilian), but when I went I wasn't the hugest fan. Habibi's has great food but is in a terrible location (over by the old Waccamaw pottery) and looks more like a market than an actual restaurant.

Attractions: I don't know how you feel about shows, but I really enjoyed the new Pirate's Voyage that's at the old Dixie Stampede. Carolina Opry is always great, as well. I'm sure you've been to Broadway if you've been to the area before, but I still like going over there and I've been there my whole life. And parasailing/banana boating are both fun. And two more worth mentioning (I've never actually done either-out of my price range- but I've heard a ton of good things about them): T.I.G.E.R.S (http://www.myrtlebeachsafari.com/) and Horseback Riding of Myrtle Beach (http://www.myrtlebeachhorserides.com/). I've also never had any direct experience with the Casino boats, but I went out on the Sea Screamer recently (http://www.myrtlebeachwatersports.com/sea_screamer_dolphin_tour.html) and would highly recommend that, too.

Good luck! I hope you have a great time at the beach
  • Thank you so much!
