Impromptu Wedding

Hi guys, My Fiance and I have been engaged fro 6 years and quickly decided to have our Wedding, at home, on Dec. 24th 2012. We started planning about 2 weeks ago. Just a regular non-traditional ceremony.
Should I have a boquet and should I have a vail even tho I'm not wearing a wedding dress?

I'm wondering if a veil might look out of place without a wedding dress, do you think? I should think you could carry a bouquet or any number of different items that brides carry.

</div><div>You should wear a dress that is special to you. It doesn't necessarily have to be a wedding dress. There are many different options, especially if you want to go non-traditional. </div><div>
</div><div>It's hard to say if a veil would look good with your dress without knowing a little bit about what the dress looks like. There are lots of different types veils. You could go with a small bird cage veil if it fits your style. A simple fingertip length veil might also be pretty.</div><div>

Exactly.  If you get married in it, it is your wedding dress whether or not it is frothy lacy white meringue or not.   If you want a veil, wear a veil.  I wore one and hated that damn thing.  I could not get it off my head fast enough.

The benefit of carrying a bouquet is that you have something to do with your hands.  I am one for fidgeting and having the bouquet had me keep my hands occupied so that I wasn't fidgeting quite so much.    I have been several weddings where the bouquet was a single flower tied with a bow.  If you pick a strong stemmed flower (rose, gerbera, calla lily) this looks very elegant for little outlay.
