Weird stuff with Macy's registry

I checked our registry today and there were about 30 items on our registry that I never put on there. I don't mean 30 things that people purchased so it added them to the list, I mean unfulfilled purchases. Has this happened to anyone before? I quickly deleted them all but I'm a little baffled as to how this happened.

After reading around a bit, it looks like Macy's has a practice of automatically adding things to your registry that they think you will want. That's so shady.

    I've had my Macy's registry for awhile and I've never had random items added.

    Nope...we registered back in the fall and haven't been back in the store since then. And I've checked the registry about once a week and the items just showed up today. Weird.

    That's really strange! I wonder if another couple has the same names as you and your fiance and somehow got logged onto your registry at the store? Longshot, but it might be worth calling the store and asking about it.

    Maybe it was a glitch. We have been registered at Macy's for months and have never had this problem.

    Ok, glad to hear no one else has had this happen to them! My fiance does have a common name so maybe that's what happened...guess I'll keep checking and give them a ring if it happens again.

    It is strange, I haven't had this problem.  Maybe something got mixed up, maybe the couple who used your scanning gun after you still had your registry linked to it?

    <div>This is what I am thinking, too.  I started my registry at Macy's back in December and this hasn't happened to me, either.  I would definitely call and let them know what happened, and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't happen again!</div>
