Help with gifts for parents!!

So I'm obviously getting married in vegas which is totally awesome.  But for the gifts for the parents I don't know what to do.

I don't want to bring anything that'll be a pain to travel with and they'll have to travel with it too.
I was thinking of donating to a charity for each set of parents to a charity they'd be interested in.  And then maybe after the wedding, mailing them each a frame with a picture from the wedding?

What do ya guys/gals think?

Thanks :)

I treated my parents to a date night in Vegas - it was a dinner & show package to see Love. My parents never do things like that so I wanted them to have a fun night out for just the two of them. They had a great time! I do also plan on doing some sort of picture thing as well... Over a month later and still haven't quite gotten around to that yet...

Gifts for parents is just something I had never of before coming onto the Knot. I think it must be the different countries thing! That said we are talking our folks out to dinner the night after the wedding as a bit of a thanks.
We also don't do rehearsal dinners (or rarely do rehearsals for that matter either!)

We took both sets of parents out to a nice dinner before the wedding weekend. They loved it. Then we gave FIL an engraved knife(he collects), my dad a flask(big drinker) and our mothers personalized snow globes. They all loved it. Pictures/albums of the wedding are always good, we'll be giving them albums too when I finally get around to doing them! lol

We are trying to figure out what to do for ours as well. For FI parents, are thinking of a gift certificate to an airline, because he complains that they do not visit enough. Mine on the other hand are around plenty. So still trying to figure out what to do for them. They are las vegas locals so the restaurant and show idea is out.

I second direy's choice!!! Beatles Love is the best Cirque show I've ever seen, but that is likely because the music reminded me of the time's my mom and I spent together while my siblings were at school since I was the youngest. If your parents were at all interested in their music they will think the show is More than Amazing!!! They also have a relitavely new Elvis Cirque, but I haven't been to that one yet so I can't say whether it is in the same category as Love.

Otherwise I think the picture idea is good too. Maybe even a nice album to put the pictures they take while with you in Vegas. And it's always a good feeling to have a donation made to a charity in your name.

A boat tour of the Hoover Damn. I've been on one that I got tickets to from the Hacienda Casino in Boulder City, but you can probably purchase them online somewhere. It was pretty nice if they're into that sort of thing, and was super affordable. Maybe tickets to do that and a bottle of sunscreen :)

Tickets to just about any majic show in Vegas. Even the smaller ones are usually pretty great, and you can get some great deals on tickets.

Jersey Boys tickets...... So many great shows in every price range!!!!
