Hello!

I just got engaged this past Saturday!  My FI and I have been dating for 2 years and 4 months.  We had talked about getting married back in February and I committed the cardinal sin of starting to plan before it was official.  We booked the Belle Isle Casino for our reception for October 12, 2013.  I'm trying to decide if I want the ceremony to be there as well or in the flower garden next to the conservatory.  I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and picking your brains.

    I have a soft spot in my heart for the Casino though we didn't get married there. Can't wait to see more of your plans.

    Thanks everyone...I think it will just be easier to have both the ceremony and reception both in the casino.  That way I'll save on the extra expense on having to rent chairs for the ceremony.

    Welcome! We looked at the conservatory too, and as much as I loved it, I was nervous about first paying for the chairs, but the rain plan as well. They don't have one, so you'd have to do it in the Casino (or DYC) - and then you lose the money you paid for the chairs and the space, plus you have to pay extra to host it at the venue. Much easier to pick somewhere with a rain plan! You can always get some lovely pictures at the Conservatory.
