BF can't keep secrets and told me ths surprise.
It's a Kindle. He knows I wanted one for a while now, and wanted to save me the trouble of carrying my books to class.
I really knew it wasn't going to be a ring because he's adament about not proposing untll he graduates, but, hey, I can dream.
He's so sweet.

Have fun with it! You'll love it!
I'm (sort of) sorry it's not a ring... I know you've both logically made the decision to wait, and as we all remind ourselves when we get a bit impatient, a little bit more time as just boyfriend/girlfriend is a good thing and there's no rush. But I know you were sort of hoping, and I'm sorry for that small disappointment.

Me too.
But... a kindle is better than a pony in my books!! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" /> I'm very jealous.

For Christmas before Drew deployed he took me to his car and gave me some bogus excuse about how we had to clean it out right there on Christmas Eve and I really, really, really thought I'd un-cover a box with a ring...turns out it was the wii I'd asked for. I was THRILLED, but I was just the slightest bit dissapointed too.
I still think it should have been a pony. A Shetland pony would have fit...

Glad you like your gift, that was awfully nice of him.
However..... Am I the only one who does not want a Kindle or other e-book device. I imagine getting the worlds worst headache trying to read a book on there. I can't stare at my computer screen for all to long before I get a headache.

</div><div>It actually looks just like a page out of a book. No back lighting so if you want to read at night you have to sit near a light source. When clicking from one page to another the words dissolve and reappear. I know some people who don't want one cause they prefer having a real book in their hands with a spine and turning each page themselves. The appeal to me is to have several books on hand at once and it saves shelf space. I read books too quickly and they just end up sitting and taking up space. </div>
