Wedding Photography and Video

Where can I find a decent wedding and video specialist in New Orleans area that won't cost me $2000?

You should check out the photographers on Craigslist or see if a student can photograph and video your wedding?
  • I don't know of any who do both but you may want to contact a few of each and see if they'd be willing to put a special lower cost package together for you. Maybe with less hours,

Me and my Mom asked a few photographers for less hours on the wedding day and they said no because there is a lot of time and work editing the photos after the wedding. One said he takes just as many photos being there 7 hours vs 8 hours. Just a heads up. Two are willing to work with me by taking a less expensive album. Maybe that will help you. If anyone knows of any photographers who are more flexible flexible please post.

Affordable photographers are sabree hill, renaissance photography, and justbephotogennic. I don't think any of them do video, but I've seen a recent post of people suggesting affordable videographers...
  • Photographer: Sarah Mattix
    Video: Bella Productions

    Both are awesome!

  • I just booked Steve with Shoot 2 Studios, he's very reasonably priced, doesn't do video, but his packages are flexible and he may be able to recommend a videographer that he's worked with? I met with him and really like his personality and work!
  • Photojennic photography is afordable and flexible with her packages. She also does amazing work. I've used her on several occasions and she did my friends bridal and wedding photos (I am also using her for mine). For video Montoto productions has some affordable packages as well.
  • I used Rita Frelich Artography. She's amazing to work with and does beautiful work!

I've been looking forward to this day for a very long time, and plan on having the photos from my wedding for a VERY long time as well.  Trusting a "Student" or someone who I found on Craigslist who doesn't even have a website, who is NOT a wedding photographer, doesn't sound like a good idea to me.  I'm sure you've heard the saying "you get what you pay for"...if you don't want good photos, don't pay for them, but I sure do ;-)
