Hi! My name is Christine and I'm a newbie. My fiance and I are getting married May 18, 2013 in a glass chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and are very excited. I have all of my vendors booked and deposits paid. My dress is picked, but I need to order it it in the next couple of weeks. I was trying to lose weight to get into a smaller size, but I gained instead. Ha.

Anyway, my fiance was laid off 3 weeks ago and has an interview on Friday. Happy thoughts and/or prayers would be appreciated. This wedding budget is hard to manage since everything is purchased and the main costs to be paid are all of the vendors.

How many of you have already ordered your dress?

    Welcome to the board!  I would LOVE to see pictures of your venue. It sounds beautiful. 

    I'm sorry to hear your FI was laid off but my fingers are crossed that his interview goes great tomorrow! 

    I ordered my dress in May. They said it'll take 6-8 months to come in. I hope it comes sooner because I'm dying to put it back on :)

    Good luck with the interview! Wedding planning while unemployed can be very stressful. I hope it all works out!

    I already have my dress. I bought a preowned dress, so that process was pretty quick for me. Welcome and feel free to post more! :D

    Welcome to the board! I am also a May 18 bride. :) Good luck to your FI on his interview.  My FI was laid off for two months at the beginning of our planning, so I know how it feels... but just stay positive and it'll work out!
    I ordered my dress back at the end of April and it came in about a month ago... I was sooo excited!

    Welcome, congrats, and good luck to you and your FI! I actually have my dress already. I picked it out in July and was planning on ordering it, but the one I tried on fit so well that I just bought it off the rack.

    Welcome to the board ! I ordered my dress at the end of july and they said it will be 6 months before its in. Come Oct ill be rallying up my girls for their dresses. Sending prayers for FI on the interview.

    I'm for sure sending my thoughts your guys' way, hope the interview goes well! I bought a sample dress at DB for $99 that fit perfectly other than being too long. It's at my parents' house and I go try it on every once in a while lol!

    Thank you all so much! This board is a lot more welcoming than the etiquette board, it can get plain up ugly over there! I so appreciate your thoughts and prayers. RDR...our venue is Thorncrown Chapel. Thorncrown.com. : Yipes! I need to order my dress ASAP!

    I just ordered my dress last week but was assured that it would come in on time for me to do alterations - fingers crossed that it will be here early.

    Welcome! I am also a May 18, 2013 Bride! I found my dress online in December and fell in love but decided to wait until I lost some weight to go dress shopping. I finally went in mid-August and got to try on the dress and it was the one! They told me it would be 5 months at the earliest but I got a call last week it was in! I went and tried it on and inspected iit on Friday and it looks awesome!! I hope the interview goes well! Good luck!
