procession timing and order

I have a question about the procession timing
the song i have chosen for the processsion is air on g string by bach which is about 5 minutes long. is this long enough to have:
the usher walk my two aunts down the aisle
another usher walk my grandma downt he aisle
the groom walk his mother down the aisle and seat her
the 4 groomsmen walk down the aisle
then the 4 bridesmaids
or would it make more sense to have the 4 groomsmen already standing at the alter by the officiant at the beginning?
Thanks!!! any suggestions will help!

Re: procession timing and order

  • My guess is yes. Probably depends on the length of the aisle though. 5 minutes is a long time though.

I personally think it is a little silly to have the groomsmen walk down the aisle by themselves (just personal preference). I'd probably have them escort the bridesmaids or have them stand up there with your FI. My BMs liked being escorted because it was a long, brick aisle with some stairs and it gave them someone to hold on to haha.

It's a good thing to test out at your rehearsal if you have one. Other possibilities: if you are having a recorded version, there are about 9 million versions of that song. If you need a longer or shorter 1 it probably exists. If you have a DJ they can fade it out if you need it. If you have a live musician, that song is pretty easy to add repeats to and they can extend it if need be.

    Hope that helps!

  • I have a similar question. My song is 5 minutes as well but I have 6 BM/GM as well as flowerBOY and RB. Can I seat the 5 sets of grandparents before this song or should it all be during one song?
