Alice's Piece of Cake Meeting

I met with Alice yesterday. I just wanted to say that I highly recommend her! I am having a Bride's cake done since I am vegan and our big cake is part of our catering package and they don't do vegan cakes. She designed the perfect sized mini-cake for me and is extremely reasonably priced. She was wonderful to work with and the samples were delicious.

Just wanted to recommend her :)

    I second!
She's great to work with, and we also had a great experience at our tasting :)

I can say though that our actual wedding cake was absolutely incredible.  It was so unbelievable moist, it was definitely up there in the best cake (wedding and non-wedding) I've ever had.

We did red velvet, kahlua chocolate something, and vanilla white.  We purchased little cake-slice boxes for folks to take extra home (highly recommend, guests loved it, I think they're in my vendor reviews on my wedding site below), and DH and I were able to take a peice of each flavor to our suite.  We stuffed our faces like fool's with Alice's cake until 3 AM!! It was sooooo awesome :)

EmDizzle, where did you get your to-go cake box slices?  Love the idea!!!!

    Sure!

We ordered 100 boxes from www.brpboxshop.com (Big River Packaging) for $20 with free shipping!  This was the best rate we could find only needing 100
We had 230 guests attending, almost all the boxes were used up, and only like 10 pieces of cake were left at the end of the night.  I was just kind of lucky that 100 was just what I needed though, because even if you need less, I don't know if you can find them any cheaper (papermart.com I believe has some, but they're more expensive each, but I think you can buy smaller quanities, you'll just have to do the math with what you need).

(I couldn't remember which wedding planning page I put them on... here's a link to see the item number and a picture... just scroll towards the bottom -

The week of the wedding, my sister helped me stamp these cute, ornate "B" designs (found at michaels or something) on the top of each box, then we folded them all together, and stacked them in big cardboard boxes to take to the reception hall.  It was kinda fun actually, and not too much work, I'd say with the two of us we had them all done in like an hour, two tops.  I just wanted to have them all ready to the caterers could get all the cake pieces boxed up quickly without an issue.

so with like $25 and 2 hours of not hard work, none of the delicous cake was wasted :D

Thanks Kelly!  I'm vegan too.  What flavor did you choose?  I'm thinking of using her and have set up a tasting.
