Wedding Invitations & Paper

So frustrated.. help?--- Carlson Craft invites-- anyone have good luck???

So I picked invites out in february... Still, they're not even in production. I love them- and have yet to see anything even coming close to looking similar! I'm literally at my breaking point with Carlson Craft. I've read a bunch of reviews, 99% of them were bad/do not recommend... (guess I should've checked that before?).. I have my calligrapher scheduled for the end of June... Carlson Craft & the dealer I'm going through appear to be dragging their feet. Like I said, not even in production yet.. should I be worried about getting them on time?

A lot of reviews mentioned they'd show up wrong/damaged.. and would need time to send them back, etc. (I hope that's not the case.. but.. it seems like a popular complaint)..

I'm wondering if anyone had a good experience that can make me feel a tiny bit at ease.. or anyone just recommend ditching it and finding new ones.. :-( ?

  • You ordered them in February and still didn't receive them? Did it give an estimate of the manufacturing time when you ordered?

I dont' have any experience with Carlson Craft, but I feel that 12 weeks or more is quite long to receive wedding invitations. Did you contact them? I think I would call them and talk to them, see what they say when they'll be ready. What if something went wrong with your order? I just can't believe it would take that long.

Looking for alternatives I guess depends on your wedding date... Hope you'll get them soon!

  • Carlson Craft was recommended to me- we're working with a local distributor.  I know Hallmark also deals with them but we got a discount through someone else locally.  I can't speak for how fast they are- I just started talking to the girl at the local place last week but she's been incredibly fast with communication.

I hope they're ok as I'm using them too!!  I would think they should be somewhat good if they're being distributed through Hallmark.  Goodluck.
  • I ordered Carlson Craft invites through and local distributor. I got mine within a week and a half, so I'm not sure what is going on with yours. I would keep at them, because that is not normal.

Also, mine were exactly what I ordered, no damage, no mistakes. They were actually all packed in individual boxes (cards, inner envelopes, etc.) and then packed neatly into a larger box.

  • Something's wrong here.  One of my friends is a Carlson Craft dealer and she says they go into production the day after you approve them and ship the day after that.

Everyone I know who's ordered through her has received their invites in less than 2 weeks.  If you're ordering engraved or letterpress, they might take 5 days in production according to her.  I think someone's not telling you the truth and my guess is your local dealer.

I personally would cancel the order with your local dealer and order the same invitations through someone else.

Thanks!!! It ended up being the local vendors fault.. Terrible experience. I went through Papyrus..and should have new proofs by the end of the day.. I feel so much more relieved!!!
