Anyone been to Valentin Imperial Maya? Considering wedding there. Any other adult only suggestions?

Hi all,
This is my first post on this board. I got engaged two weeks ago and we would like to do a destination wedding in Mexico June 2013 at an adults-only resort. I was orginally looking at Secrets but they seem a bit pricey. I came across the Valentin and everything I've read seems great. I was looking for person experiences either vacationing or marrying there. Any other suggestions would be appreciate. I would like to find a nice place but that is reasonable for guests to travel to. Overwhelmed but excited!!

A lot of the people on this board that have been there absolutely love it. You should do a search of the honeymoon board and you will get tons of results. I haven't heard anything negative.

We had our honeymoon at the VIM, and loved it. The ocean, pool, rooms, decor was all fantastic. They have multiple beautiful locations that you can use for a wedding ceremony. We saw a wedding reception when we walked by one of the restaurants one night, and they looked like they were having a blast.

Have you checked out their facebook page? There are a lot of guests that return year after year and they can give you great advice (for instance, the best email address to contact a worker named Jessica who is great at responding). Good luck!

Hubby and I spent seven nights there in May. I wasn't nuts about the food (it wasn't awful, I'd just never done AI before and I think I was expecting too much) but everything else was amazing. We paid the extra to get an Emerald suite and it was worth every penny. I would definitely go back.

we booked our HM there and now I just have to email them to request which emerald suite we want.

<div>We had an Emerald Suite with an ocean view - room 11203. The ones near it (11202,11201,etc) also have great views I've been told.

We are going there for our Nov honeymoon and I was just wondering how you got from the airport to the VIM? Cab? Did u book a shuttle in advance or does theVIM offer some type of transfer? We booked online through Expedia and didn't see that option

</div><div>Supposedly you can book transportation through VIM, but it's pretty expensive. There are a couple of different travel companies suggested on the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/valentinmaya" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">VIM Facebook page</a> (under the forums). My understanding is that taxis are actually not allowed on the airport grounds, so you'd have to walk off the airport property to get one (not a great idea).</div><div>
</div><div>We chose to use <a href="http://www.cancuntransfers.com/express/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">cancuntransfers.com</a> (clicky). They were the cheapest price we could find for a private trip. After you go through customs, you walk past the timeshare people inside the airport- once you get outside there are a bunch of travel companies with signs with people's names. You find your transport company, and they will call the driver to come around and get you. We got a nice large passager SUV alll to ourselves, with fantastic A/C. The way back it was the same thing- and our driver was really friendly, chatting with us about Mexico vs our home, and answering all the questions I had. </div>
