QOTD 8/17

Will your guests be throwing rice, birdseed, flower petals, blowing bubbles, ringing small bells, or some other alternative after your ceremony?

    None of the above, lol.

We released the rows instead of a receiving line, and just let the guests leave from there.

Multiple reasons for it, really.  We didn't want people to have to stand around while we released all of the rows, there isn't really a good place a grand exit at the church, and we didn't have a limo or cool getaway car or anything to go to.

We are doing ribbon wands.  Because we are unsure about the weather we had to have something that would work indoors also.

These are 9/$1 which I think is pretty reasonable if you do want to do bubbles!  I realize that link makes you order a whole case, however I would think local stores would have single packages of 9.

Not sure...we are not allowed to throw anything at our venue.  If we do anything, it will be bubbles. Unless I can come up with something else.

We did flower petals.  It was a last minute decision, but I'm so glad we did it.  It was so much fun!  I thought it was pretty reasonable too... around $50 for WAY more petals than 200 people could throw.

I tried to upload a pic of it, but the file's too big : (

Abbeylynne....did you use real or fake petals?  And if they were real, where did you get them for that price? TIA
  • edited December 2011

Jenzibaba--They were real.  I ordered freeze dried petals from flyboynaturals.com

The website is a little tricky to navigate, but if you look around you can find a lot of good deals.  The best deals generally in the "Bridal Bargains" section.  I just looked back at it now, and we got some that were on sale 100 cups for $49.99.  100 cups is ALOT of petals (I'd say we had at least 1/3 of the petals unused), so the 66 cup ones are a good deal too when they're in the $50-60 range.  Let me know if you want to know anything else!

Awesome!!  Thank you so much...I was looking at doing freeze dried petals too, but the sites I kept coming across were so expensive so I was just going to skip it then, but there may be hope now!  lol   I will check them out and if I need anything else, I will let you know. Thanks again!

We are either doing the ribbon wands or thunder sticks!
