Ideas for covering up a scar on my face?

I have bad acne scars on my face and I want to cover them up at my wedding. Makeup really doesn't work because they are indented... my dermatologist told me about a product called dermaflage that is topical and fills in the scars. The website looks amazing but I wanted to see if anyone else has tried it before i pull the trigger.

HELP!

  • Have you tried using a foundation primer?  Depending on the severity of the scars, that can help.  I have a few on my cheeks and primer helps fill it in.  I use the Pur Minerals green one (the green counteracts my red scars).  People rave over the Smashbox one too- that one is feels a little thicker, so it might help too.
  • Have you seen the commercial for Mederma?  I don't have any experience with it, but it looks like it works pretty well.

I bought this for a burn scar on my arm. It was $22 and seems to work well, but I forget to put it on alot.

  • I also have scars, but unfortunately I've never used the product. If your derm recommended it, I'd give it a shot. Primers do help. Also, even if you don't use a makeup artist for your wedding day, maybe consult with one about what they usually do for people with deep scars?
  • Try Dermablend. Really good stuff. My SIL bought some because she has a rather large scar on her arm from surgery that she wants to cover and she tested the stuff out, and said it works great, and has really good staying power.
