Grooms Cake

I'm thinking about doing a grooms cake at the wedding or rehersal dinner. My FI is a huge Red Sox fan so I was thinking about doing a red sox cap cake (even though I hate the Red Sox and love the Yankees lol) I'm located in the Hartford area somewhat near Bradely airport area and am looking for some bakery recommendations. A lot of people have recommended The Kakery in Newington, has anyone ever used them before or have other recommendations?

    I haven't heard anything about the Kakery, but I'm looking at Cake Gypsy in Canton (it's right over the line from Avon/Simsbury)-- not far from the airport. I went there last weekend and bought some cupcakes-- fantastic! Has anyone used her for a groom's cake?

    A girl I know is opening a store in Wallingford. She is just opening a store and does great cakes. She would probably deliver the cake. Look for her on facebook. Alyssa's Cakery. Look at her pictures and see for yourself. Right now she works from home. She is so sweet, so if you message her I am sure she will give you any information you need.
