Reception Venue

I just got engaged on Saturday but heard I need to book the Reception Venue quick as they fill up fast, we are planning a June 2012 wedding and I know June is a popular month for weddings. We want to find something with a hotel attached and a bar in the hotel that people can go to after the reception. So far I have found Drury Lane in Oakbrook and the Wyhdham Glenview Suites...Does anyone have any other sugguestions? It would also be nice to find somewhere that offers a garden or something we could use because we want to have an outdoor wedding but this isn't a requirement as we could always find somewhere else.
Thanks!!!

    Congrats!

My reception location, the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg, has a bar inside the hotel. They also have the option of having the reception in a tent outdoors as well.  Not certain what the options are for outdoor ceremony -- they do have a small garden/courtyard.

The Marriott in Lincolnshire can fill all those needs.  The Double Tree in Arlington Heights also has a good reputation.

Don't necessarily limit yourself, tho.  Although my daughter is getting married at a country club/golf course, the hotel our guests are staying at will be shuttled free of charge to the reception.  Although the hotel is smaller, and I am not really sure about a legitimate bar/lounge area, there are two bars directly across the street that may be used as an after party venue.  The hotel is directly across from Cubby Bear North and the new Viper Alley.

Just thought I would throw out a few additional ideas if you find it hard to get what you want through a traditional hotel venue.  Good luck.

I went to a wedding at the Belvedere and there was a bar attached to the hall and the hotel was right next door.

Do you have a budget/guest count in mind? There are tons of hotels that do weddings in the area. I went to a wedding at the Marriott Lincolnshire that was beautiful. We looked at the Hotel Orrington in Evanston, which was beautiful.

I am having my wedding at the Belvedere in Elk Grove Village - like Golfer mentioned, it is attached to a Country Inn & Suites and there is a sports bar next door to it. We are also getting a block of rooms at the Westin who offers a shuttle. Good Luck with your planning!!

Congrats on your engagement!! We are having ours at the Victoria Rosemont. It's at the penthouse of the Holiday Inn Express in Rosemont and overlooks the airport runways. Not sure about a hotel bar, but we're planning on going to Shoeless Joe's with our guests afterwards, and they only have to cross the parking lot to get there and it's open till 4! Only drawback for you is there isn't really an outside area at the hotel.

Check out Danada House in Wheaton or Catigny also in Wheaton.  Both have pretty outside areas.  There's also Cuneo in Vernon Hills, which is a lot pricier.

I'm having mine at the Rialto Square Theater in Joliet. It's a very unique place, and the best part is it's only 2 blocks away from the Harrah's Casino, which is where all my guests will be staying!
