Re: Honeymoon Fund websites

  • There are seriously two other posts on the first page asking the exact same question.  Please do a little bit of reading before you make a new post.  This question has already been answered...A LOT

  • I have heard of people on this board using Honeyfund. They prefer this website because it does not charge a fee unless someone specifically pays through paypal. Even then it only passes on the paypal charges and not additional charges on top of that.

I would reccomend if you do choose the option of a honeymoon registry that you and your fiance pay for the entirety of the honeymoon prior to the registry. The registry is better for additional items like maybe swimming with dolphins, a nice massage or a private dinner. You shouldn't expect your wedding guests to front the entire cost of a honeymoon.

If you are looking for a website to do research for honeymoon locations, I recommend tripadvisor.com.  It's a very helpful website with actual reviews and a forum.
  • agreed, you will get flack on here for them- but if you want something that is a bit more well rounded- we are using www.uponourstar.com and found it to be the best for our needs after checking them all out.   We have more than a honeymoon registry though (you can only have that if you want) but we have more of a universal type registry since we have a lot of bigger house items and not so traditional stuff like tools, drywall, furniture, etc on there as well.  Feel free to ask any questions, now that we are getting close- I have more experience with how it works :)
  • If you are planning on going to a Sandals resort, they also have their own registry there. It's very nice.

  • Second vote for Honeyfund.  That's what we're using.
  • We were originally going to do a honeyfund.com registry but then decided against it because our honeymoon is a part of our destination wedding, everything's already paid for, and we won't see our guests until our AHR when we return, so it's kind of pointless. If they choose to give us cash as a gift, great, but it just didn't make sense for us.

Honeyfund seemed to be the best of those sites when I was doing the research.
  • We are using UponOurStar- we chose it over honeyfund because it seem to be more flexible- so if you want more than just a honeymoon things on it- it is worth considering.
I wanted to be able to add honeymoon fun stuff but also a few more traditional items and not have too many registries- that was the selling point for me.  It was super easy to set up, we had to make a date change because my FFIL got sick, and it was super easy to modify, change, etc- you can check ours out at www.uponourstar.com
    HTH!
