Bracelet with a tulle dress?

I had planned on getting a blacelet to wear with my dress-but a recent post got me thinking. My dress is all tulle-is a bracelet just asking for snag city?

Here is a picture of my dress.

Any ideas for a style of bracelet that would tear my dress to shreds?

Re: Bracelet with a tulle dress?

  • Good point! If you can, try it on with the dress. Or buy it, try it on, send it back if it doesn't work. I have that problem with my veil (tulle) and the beading on my dress getting all caught, so the veil has to be the right length to hang right. Still working on that issue... but anyways, pearls will work, as will something that's all metal (no jewels), but if those don't match your concept, I say just try things on the best you can. Another option is using crystal beads (especially if you're into DIY stuff). Get a few swarovksi crystal beads at a craft store like Joann's, the metal/string for the bracelet, and it won't look DIY at all. You may even be able to find something along those lines at a department store. The rhinestones with prongs holding them in are most likely to get caught, so see if you can find something a little different that will still match what you're looking for. Good luck!!

  • I just experienced this same thing.  I bought a pretty rhinestone sparkly bracelet (luckily I can return it) and it occurred to me that it might be a nightmare with all the snagging.  I am now going with pearls with little swarovski crystals so its still a little blingy that I found on Etsy.

  • Go with pearls if you want to wear a bracelet.
  • I wore rhinestones with a satin dress and it was a disaster.  I took it off after church and returned it after the wedding (I'm shady).
