Memorize or note card?

Are you memorizing your vows or reading them?  If you're reading them, where are you storing your note card during the ceremony??

The minister is reading our vows, we will repeat them.  I'm great at memorizing, but I could easily see having an attack of the nerves, or giddiness, and wrecking it if we went with memorizing.  ;)

We're writing ours on notecards and the pastor will probably just hold them in the binder he uses for weddings.

We're going to have cards... We're doing a self-uniting (no officiant) ceremony in PA, and so everyone that's reading anything will have a timeline (to know when they're up next) and their poem. that why no forgetful slips are made.

we're going to print this on super nice half page paper so it doesn't look like we're in high school giving a speech we threw together the night before.

We had notecards. The BM and MOH kept them and the rings, and handed them to us at the appropriate time.

We will have notecards.  My FI can't memorize anything beyond a phone number or 2 sentences so we decided we'd both have them.  Either the officiant or the MOH/BM will hold them.

I would be too scared I would forget them while I am standing there crying trying to say my vows and listening to his. I'm definitely going to have not cards! Smile

We wrote our whole ceremony, we will keep the book that we are putting together for our officiant and they will have the vows in there.  In a perfect world they would be memorized, but we'll have notecards for reading off of.  They will be on the small table we'll have at the altar.  The officiant will also have them in case either of us is that shaky then we can just repeat.

Our minister says he can whisper them to us so nobody will notice and it will seem like we're just saying them!  Sounds good, unless one of us gets distracted and has to ask him to repeat! lol all in all it will be fine :)
